The human body can be shaped and proportioned to become one of the most beautiful subjects in the world. Conversely, if the same body is not properly posed, even the most attractive person can appear misshapen or out of proportion in a photograph. The main challenge here is the physical diversity and height differences of the people we, as professional photographers, deal with every day. It is easy to photograph a professional model in a training session or seminar; but if you use the same poses for a large number of regular clients, you will probably end up with unpresentable portraits. In particular, in this book we will examine the techniques of portrait photography on location. As you have probably guessed or learned from past experience, posing outdoors requires a different approach than in the studio. In the studio, you have access to chairs, sofas, accessories, and auxiliary equipment; but outdoors, you usually have to work with what´s available.
